Hi, we’re Megan and Jim - founders of Bold Baby, and parents to three daughters.
Bold Baby was born from a shared love of design and a desire to bring something fresh, beautiful, and truly unique to the world of baby cots. The idea was born back in 2009, with the arrival of our first daughter. We were given a hand-me-down cot, and Jim decided to reinvent it. He crafted custom end panels and hand-painted each one with original designs. It completely transformed the cot - it looked modern, playful, and totally one-of-a-kind.
It got us thinking: what if other parents, like us, wanted something more personal? Something they could style their own way, to suit their home and their taste.
Life got busy with two more daughters joining the family, but the idea kept burning. Fast forward to 2020 - living in Melbourne and navigating endless lockdowns - Jim resumed work on the project and our first prototype was built - Bold Baby was underway!
We’ve both come from creative backgrounds - Jim’s worked in advertising and design for over 25 years, and outside of work always has a creative project on the go. Megan worked in television production and the arts, and in her spare time can often be found at the sewing machine. We’d always hoped to create something together one day - and this cot is the perfect blend of our skills and passions.
At Bold Baby, we believe baby spaces should be as beautiful, personal, and creative as the families and little people who live in them.
